Obituary

Pell and Helen Mann had their first child, John Michael Mann, on March 16, 1946 in Macon, Georgia. John, also known as Mickey to his family (after the baseball player Mickey Mantle), has two younger sisters, Jackie and Barbara. Being a child of an Air Force Chief Master Sargent, John and his family moved throughout the United States and even spent several years in Guam. While living on the island of Guam, John developed a significant fear of snakes. A fear that haunted him his entire life. John spent his teenage years in Merced, California where he graduated from Atwater High School in Atwater, California. He attended Fresno State College where he became a member of the ROTC and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting. Upon his graduation, he served in the Air Force and was stationed in Rapid City, South Dakota as an underground missle launcher. While stationed in South Dakato he became the proud father of a little girl, Michelle Jean who was born on November 17, 1970. Shortly after her birth, John completed his service in the Air Force and sat for his CPA exam. He landed his first job as an associate with Price Waterhouse in New York City and then Miami. John was a young eager, dedicated, and hard worker who easily made friends. After leaving Price Waterhouse he moved on to other positions and companies throughout his career working constantly and diligently until he formed his own business. His companies include The Mann Group and International Executive Consultants. He also served as the CFO of SR Technologies, Inc.
John's business adventures allowed him to keep a strong connection to South Florida where he traveled frequently mixing business and visits with family. He was extremely close to his sisters and as they grew older the bond with his siblings grew stronger. Mickey, as he was always called by his sisters, was extremely proud of his sisters' accomplishments; yet in spite of the fact he did not have the time to pursue additional degrees, in his sisters eyes he will always have the highest Degree-that of being the best Big Brother.

John met his wife, Sunday, of 33 1/2 years in 1977. It was love at first sight and it only took three months before they made it official and took a walk down the aisle. Sunday encouraged John to live life to the fullest. She was the love of his life. He was also an avid fly fisherman and loved to travel the world looking for new places to spend his time fishing. He always brought Sunday along for the ride. He enjoyed looking for new adventures and together he and Sunday traveled throughout the world exploring and living life to its fullest. His favorite place in the world was his cabin on Lake Granby where he could relax, fish and enjoy his time with his many friends and family.

John was the grandfather of two wonderful children, Ashton and Chase, who he adored and loved to spend time with. He always looked forward to his visits with them so that he could throw the ball with Chase and teach him the value of sportsmanship. He also enjoyed listening to the many stories of his granddaughter Ashton who he lovingly referred to as "Chatty Kathy."

John was warm, hard working, and an overall amazing man that will be missed by not only his family and friends, but the many people he has touched during his short but exciting life.
