John F. Mariani, 84, of Dunnellon, Fl. Passed away March 20, 2014 while under the care of Hospice of Marion County. A native of Brooklyn, NY he came to the area in 1997 from Long Island, NY. He was a retired bricklayer and a Catholic. Mr. Mariani proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was awarded two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. His memberships include the American Legion, VFW, The Korean Veterans of Ocala and SCP Military Club. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; 3 sons, Douglas Mariani of Anaheim, Ca., Carlo Mascolo of Spring Hill, Fl. and Jeffrey Mascolo of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl.; daughter...

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; 3 sons, Douglas Mariani of Anaheim, Ca., Carlo Mascolo of Spring Hill, Fl. and Jeffrey Mascolo of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl.; daughter Marie Covais of Hampton Bay, NY; 2 brothers, Angelo Marabella of Spring Hill, Fl. and Pat Marabella of Queens, NY; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of His Life will be held Friday May 16, 2014 11:00 AM at Fero Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Full Honors.
