As I read Nicole's tribute to you I could see what a great role model you were for her as she grew to be an adult. She has taken what you gave her and incorporated that in her own life, almost taking over where you left off. She is my dear daughter-in-law and a wonderful mother to my grandchildren.I could not help but sob through her tribute just to know more about her and her Dad. My son was blessed the day he married Nicole. May you rest in peace in the arms of an Angel.

THE MIZPAH BUTTERFLY BLESSING:
The Mizpah Blessing offers the hope of reunion with the person who dies: "May the Lord watch between me and thee while we are absent one from another." The butterfly is the sign of new life, representing death as a transformation, not a finality.
With sympathy to the Ponton family.

My deepest condolences to the Ponton family. John and I became great friends while playing games online. John, your love of Country & Western made me crazy, but didn't keep you from sending me links for these songs. The weekly discussion on politics and sports were sometimes heated. All in all, you said I kept your mind active, and you certainly did the same for me, and we always ended our conversations with a laugh. You also shared your love of food and family with me. Thank you so much for sharing so much of yourself. I already miss you.

I'm not ready to say goodbye, Dad, but all my memories keep you with me. Like I told Justin, you live in all our hearts now. I remember loving to watch you work, and loved when I got to help hand you your tools. It seemed like there was nothing that you could not do.I remember going on your delivery routes, too, and meeting your favorite customers. You loved hearing their stories, and I loved hearing yours. I remember nights of games: Uno, Parchessi, Sorry, trivial pursuit when we got older. I remember listening to the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen, the "talking Guitar." I remember you made me a tape of Kenny Rogers that I listened to over and over. I remember you dragging us to see Star Wars and I was convinced I would hate it. Of course, you were right once again- I loved it.I I remember sitting on top of the motor home that you had parked for us to view the meteor shower. I had never seen so many shooting stars. I remember how much you loved taking us to see fireworks, and shooting them off yourself, too. Summer was pools, beaches, hiking, fireworks, softball. Winter was sledding, snow forts, snow men, snowball fights, ice skating with hot chocolate. Dinner was not complete without a pitcher of Girard Spring Water. Food was always an event...mouth-watering, spicy, savory and delicious. You taught us to appreciate details....whether it was food, music, art, nature, work....you took the time to do things right and expected the same from us. I remember learning to ride a two wheeler and begging you not to let go. I couldn't decide whether to be excited or mad when I figured out you did let me go. Excitement won out with your proud encouragement. That's one of the tricks of being a parent, knowing when to hold on and when to let go. You got it right. I love you, Dad.~ Nikki

Dear Ponton Family, so sorry to hear that John passed, our condolences to all the family.
As young boys, Johnny, Bobby, Johnny W. and myself, Danny, always hung together. We were buddies. We would meet at the "V" in the road at the big maple. Yes, we carved our initials in the bark, talked about what we were to do for the day and more. This went on for many a year and of course when we got older we put away those childish things and went our separate ways. I have good memories.
May the God of Hope comfort you in this time of need. Danny Wright

Dad,
Thanks for always being there for me throughout my life. You taught me things that I can pass on to many generations. Your teachings will live on in me forever. Anyone that knew you knew how big your heart was. You could make the worst person feel good about themselves. You were more than just a dad. You were my best friend. Calling you everyday to make sure you were ok and stopping by after work to make sure you were ok was the least I could do for the man that sacrificed so much to make sure I had all the opportunities he never had. I love you dad. Your gone but will never be forgotten.
