John Alan Rodzik, 58, of Marietta, GA, passed away February 13, 2013 after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer. Born in Wyandotte, MI, John was the son of John and Lillian Rodzik. He was President of his Roosevelt High School senior class. A graduate of Michigan State University with a B.A. in accounting, he earned his CPA certificate while working at PriceWaterhouse Coopers. John was CFO & Chief Tax Officer of a privately held company in Grand Rapids, MI that was ranked by INC Magazine as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the United States. In 1983 he moved to Marietta, GA where he started his own Edward Jones branch office and most recently was owner of Rodzik Investment Management. John cared for both the financial and personal well-being of each of his clients. He was also a partner in a Tilted Kilt franchise in Jacksonville, FL.
Away from the office, John was an avid cyclist with several "Century" (100 miles in a day) rides under his saddle and participated in many fundraising charity rides annually. John was a member of Leadership Cobb, the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, and served on a variety of charitable boards and investment committees.
He was best known for his friendly smile and love of family. He was involved in all aspects of fathering including scout leadership for many years as well as attendance at all of his children's activities and sporting events. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his wit, his zest for life and his entrepreneurial spirit.

Becky, Rachel, Jason, Marilyn and Lillian. I just heard about John's death yesterday. Hopefully this note finds you. Although we had not kept in touch for many years, our families spent many summers together when we were children. I have fond memories of John's mischievous spirit. He kept us laughing. I hope that memory stays with you.

Becky, Rachel, & Jason. Ralph & I were clients at Edward Jones & followed John to Rodzik Investment Management. We loved him for many reasons-his care of us, his laugh, the way he obviously loved his family. Please know that The Lord will comfort you. Sandra and Ralph Poole, Ellijay, GA

Becky, I was a friend of John's at Edward Jones. I lost my beautiful, sweet wife Cindy, November 4, 2012 to cancer and can empathize with the pain and sense of loss you and the kids are feeling. I have learned that no words can make things better, but just know I thought the world of John and pray for peace for you and your family. God bless, Hugh Bond

Becky, Jason and Rachel - John was a special person, from the gracious host at your Christmas parties to the calm and practical parent when we attended the "teen parents" Sunday School class. He was always open to new ideas and had that spark of youthfulness. Our deepest sympathies to you - may you be comforted by your memories of such a special man. Our prayers are with you. Even though we did not know John personally, we knew him quite well through his dear sister Marilyn, who often talked about him and whom we have known for many many years, and who has become one of our closest and dearest friends. On this loss and difficult time we wish to express our sincere and deepest sympathy and offer our prayers of support to Marilyn and to John's family. Peter Djwa and Paty Verner, Vancouver, BC.
