SHORTT, John Joseph; June 3, 1928 – December 21, 2012. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of John Shortt after a lengthy illness. John has gone to join the love of his life, Mary, who predeceased him June 20, 2000. He is survived by his children John (Donna), Margaret (Howie), Eileen (Kevin), Richard (Sinead), Mary (Allan), Michael (Carol), and Kathleen. He will be lovingly remembered by his 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. John also leaves his 3 sisters, Peggy, Annie, Kathleen, and his brother Richard to mourn him. Predeceased by his brother...

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of John Shortt after a lengthy illness.
John has gone to join the love of his life, Mary, who predeceased him June 20, 2000. He is survived by his children John (Donna), Margaret (Howie), Eileen (Kevin), Richard (Sinead), Mary (Allan), Michael (Carol), and Kathleen. He will be lovingly remembered by his 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. John also leaves his 3 sisters, Peggy, Annie, Kathleen, and his brother Richard to mourn him. Predeceased by his brother David. John was a 35 year friend of Bill W. The family would like to thank Peggy and Robert Falloona for the loving care they have provided to our Dad throughout his illness. You made a difference in his life and for that we are grateful.

Friends may call at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, on Thursday, December 27th, 2012 from 5 until 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Dunstan's Church, 3152 Danforth Ave, Toronto, on Friday, December 28th, 2012 at 10 a.m.

Entombment will take place at Forest Lawn Mausoleum, 4570 Yonge Street, North York, immediately following the mass, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the would be appreciated.
