John C. Snyder, age 74, of Hayward, WI passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Essentia Health Center in Duluth, MN. John Chester Snyder Jr. was born October 9, 1937 in Chicago, IL the son of John C. and Victoria (Kurawski) Snyder. John was raised in Chicago and attended school there. He worked for a short time after school and then joined the U.S. Army on September 1, 1961. He spent two years in the Army and was honorably discharged on August 30, 1963. John Chester Snyder Jr. was born October 9, 1937 in Chicago, IL the son of John C. and Victoria (Kurawski) Snyder. John was raised in Chicago and attended school there. He worked for a short time after school and then joined the U.S. Army on September 1, 1961. He spent two years in the Army and was honorably discharged on August 30, 1963. While in the service John was joined in marriage to Dolores S. Zebrowski in Chicago, IL. John and Delores returned to Chicago where John worked for Steward – Warner where he became a warehouse supervisor. While living and working in Chicago, John and Dolores would often vacation in the Hayward, WI area. In 1979, they purchased Y-Pine Bar and Restaurant near Hayward. Together John and Delores operated the business until his recent illness. John was an avid fisherman and loved being on his pontoon on the lake.
John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dolores; one son, Mark Snyder of Hayward, WI; step granddaughter, Katie Elliott; two step great grandchildren, Kyden and Brylynn; two sisters, Phyllis Snyder of Chicago, IL, Charlotte Naley of Decora, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
