John Patrick White was born in San Francisco on March 15th, 1941. He spent his childhood growing up in San Francisco with his parents, Patrick and Aileen. Although John was an only child he had his grandparents, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends that he enjoyed spending his childhood with. John went to grammar school at St. Cecilia's and high school at Lincoln High.
On February 24th, 1962, he married Carol Scott, his high school sweetheart. John and Carol lived on 46th Avenue & Judah, San Francisco during their first year of marriage. They then moved to Westlake Apartments in Daly City where their first child Diane was born in 1963. As they planned to have more children they bought their first home in Pacifica, where Donna was born in 1964, and Kevin came along in 1968.
John worked as a Lather in the construction trade for 35+ years and during his career was employed by many different construction companies in San Francisco. During this time John also worked many side jobs so that he could move his family to the North Bay, away from the Pacifica fog. On April 16th, 1971, they followed the sunshine and bought their 'forever' home in Novato. They turned their dirt backyard into a swimming oasis where they and their family and friends enjoyed many holidays and special occasions. John and Carol took great pleasure in watching their children grow. They did many memorable activities such as spending the summer at Napa Valley Ranch Club when the kids were younger. As the kids grew they bought a speedboat and spent many wonderful summers camping, waterskiing, and house boating at Lake Shasta, Oroville, and Lake Berryessa.
1989 began a busy and exciting time for John and Carol as they planned both their daughter's weddings. Diane married Paul Gigliello in December of 1989, and became mom to Paul's eleven-year-old son Paulie; Donna married Tim Fennell in June of 1990. Over the years John was blessed with three more grandchildren. Diane and Paul had Julie; and Donna and Tim had Sean and Ryan. In 2000 John's grandson Paulie Gigliello married Stephenie Milne and John and Carol were blessed with two great-grandchildren, Gianni & Natalya.
John had an active social life that included many friends and hobbies. He was a member of SIR, Knights of Columbus, and Amblers of Marin. In his free time John had a passion for traveling, fishing, RVing, and spending his time with family and friends. John and Carol explored many amazing locations, making several wonderful friends, and enjoyed their traveling club for several years.
John lived a happy and fulfilling life and leaves a family that loves him and will cherish him forever. He is at peace in heaven with God and his Carol.
