Obituary

John Wylie, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Union Hospital at the age of 70. John was born in Peru, Indiana on May 24, 1941, the son of the late John E. Wylie, Sr. and Esther Laramore. He was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Mary Sue Whybrew on June 23, 1963. Together they shared over 48 years of marriage. John was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. His love for his family will live on for generations. John Wylie, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Union Hospital at the age of 70.

John was born in Peru, Indiana on May 24, 1941, the son of the late John E. Wylie, Sr. and Esther Laramore. He was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Mary Sue Whybrew on June 23, 1963. Together they shared over 48 years of marriage.

John was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. His love for his family will live on for generations. He will also be remembered for being a devout Purdue fan and was extremely proud that all of his children attended college there. John also enjoyed woodworking and shooting. Many may also remember him from his years of employment at J.I. Case.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue; children, John and wife Karen Wylie of Crown Point, Chad and wife Debra Wylie of Ft. Wayne and Christi and husband Rob Morton of Indianapolis. He was the loving and proud grandfather of Anne, Grace, Hannah, Chad II, Wylie, Mary Sue and Bailey. John also leaves behind his sister, Mary Jane and husband Orion Toepfer of Wabash.

In addition to his parents, John was welcomed home to heaven by his grandson, Michael Morton, who passed away on June 25, 1998 and his sister, Betty Chittum.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 12:00 Noon until the time of John's Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at the Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Grace Community Church are appreciated.
