we are saddened and our hearts are broken with the tragic loss of an amazing guy we came to know in Cuba almost one year ago. Const. John Zivcic (occifer) as we liked to call you, you made our vacation and it was a trip we will never forget. In one short week enjoying dinners, shopping, cappuccinos and a few drinks (which even got you dancing) we shared many laughs and stories. Your laugher was contagious and your smile was captivating. We know that Heaven has now gained a very special Angel. Some people come into our lives for such a short time but remain in our hearts forever. We will never forget you Buddy. Rest In Peace John. Until we meet again. Trish and Josi

My deepest condolences to the Zivcic Family and our Fine Men and Women in Uniform all over the world for your very tragic loss. My heart is so very sad today as I was on the Highway as this beautiful young man's family escorted his casket for that final trip down the QEW with the OPP and others.... I was overcome with emotions as someone I loved and raised as my own lost his life two days after a car accident also, he would be the same age as John and now they both live on in so many and I pray that the recipients of their organs are half as good of people as these two beautiful young men were.....Rest in Peace John and "A" I miss you

I want to fly to that place in the Heavens where I can see you smile just once more,
God has taken you both for a reason to that place where there is pain no more

Anto i Sandra Krizanac

We had the chance to meet Const J.Zivcic when he pulled us over one day...
He asked us:"where we were from".. we responded "Croatia". He had an instant smile on his face. He introduced himself as John and i told him i am Anto. WE shook hands. He had a big grin on his face. U could feel that he had a big HEART. He then spoke to me in Croatian and told us to be careful out here. As we drove off, My Wife Sandra and I were talking about what a nice officer we just met and also from our homeland, I quickely turned my vehicle around as we wanted to offer him some homemade CEVAPI's, but UNFORTUNATELY he was already gone.
We were devastated when we first learned about his passing... still shaken up from the tragedy. God only takes the good ones. R.I.P Priljatelju..

the very last part of Tom's speech wasso moving. It should be printed and posted officially in every school college and university to help inform young people just what it is a police officer risks everyday...RE: "Hey Mr. Police Officer I pay your salary How Much do you Make"? ...I make you feel safe while I hold your hand I can make your choking son/daughter breathe again...etc..wish I had the entire end of the speech to share with my son's school....it is so important and our responsibility to inform our young people of Constable Zavcic's ultimate sacrifice. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Zivcic family especially little Layla who will be missing her uncle John Thank you for sharing such an intimate moment on television. It truly has been a tragic loss for family friends co-workers and the 22 Division Community.. Michelle, Mississauga, ON
