Newton, Johnny Cephus Lunsford, 76 passed away on Monday September, 11 2017 peacefully at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Caldwell County May 22, 1941, to the late Ruby Lunsford Buff and Fred Lee Lunsford. Johnny retired from Regal Manufacturing of Hickory. Johnny will be remembered by his friends and family as a loyal, hardworking, husband and father. He enjoyed a good day of fishing and visiting friends. He also enjoyed small talk and telling jokes. Johnny is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara of 32 years, five children, Michelle Brewer and husband, Jimmi of Granite Falls. Shane Lunsford and wife, Heather of Connelly Springs. Jason Lunsford of the home. Katie Arndt and husband, Kelvin of Conover. Stepson, Jamie McCall and wife Karla, of Granite Falls. Two sisters, Judy Earley and husband Marvin, of Granite Falls, and Ann Gilbert of Granite Falls. One brother, Jack and wife Beulah Lunsford of Granite Falls. Three grandchildren, Amber, Dylan, Tre, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45 pm Friday, September 15, 2017 at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory, followed by the service at 3:00pm. Pastor David Nolan will officiate. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658. Condolences may be left at www.catawbamemorialpark.com. The Lunsford Family is under the care of Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations.
