Obituary

Funeral services for Johnny Ray Coats, 65, will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tommy Patton officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2009 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home. Mr. Coats entered into rest December 4, 2009. He was a retired District Chief with the Bossier City Fire Department and a member of the Cypress Baptist Church.Johnny was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish, and he was a resident of Bossier City for forty-three years. Mr. Coats entered into rest December 4, 2009. He was a retired District Chief with the Bossier City Fire Department and a member of the Cypress Baptist Church.Johnny was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish, and he was a resident of Bossier City for forty-three years.

Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Gloria Coats; three children, Tammy Coats Lewis and husband Tony of Clarksville, TN; Johnny Ray Coats,Jr. of Bossier City, LA; Tiffany Rhoades and husband David of Adairsville,GA; five sisters, Jean Brown of Orange, TX; Ella Mae Sanders of Beaumont, TX; Gladys Thompson of Van, TX; Frances Wilson of Vidor, TX; and Nelda Coats of Natchitoches, LA; seven grandchildren, Karah Walker, Tia Lewis, Kayla Coats, Jessie Miller, Joshua Rhoades, Dekotah Coats, and Taylor Rhoades.

Pallbearers will be Gene Madden, Rodney Madden, Donald Litton, James Cubley, David Rhoades, and David Prothro.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members and retired members of the Bossier City Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
