Johnny "Eric" Purvis, 52, of Brunswick, GA passed away Friday, January 13, 2012. The family will receive friends Monday, January 16, 2012 from 6-8PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11AM at First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. John Rentz officiating. Burial will follow at Palmetto Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sandy Cooper, Alan Loper, Jeff Boyd, Buddy Webb, Armando Lopez and Thomas Frazier. Honorary pallbearers will be Garfield Green, Alan Morgan, employees of Rogers Bridge Company and Crowley Chiropractor.
Eric was born on July 21, 1959 in Brunswick to the late J.R. Purvis and Louise Hamilton Purvis. He graduated from Glynn Academy and started his career as a crane operator. He loved his job and his fellow employees.
He is survived by his wife: Judy Purvis of Brunswick; two sons: Chuck Padgett of Waverly, GA and David Purvis of Mount Pleasant, GA; two brothers: Ervin Purvis of Darien, GA and Anthony Purvis of Brunswick; six grandchildren: Heather Padgett- Loper, Charlie Padgett, Chris Padgett, Landon Purvis, Hannah Purvis and David Purvis II; two great grandchildren: Daytona Padgett- Loper and Briggs Loper; several nieces and nephews and his little buddy, Max.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home www.edomillerandsons.
