Jonah Castille passed away on July 30, 2014 (age 85) in Elk Grove, California at Windsor Care & Rehabilitation Home. He was born to Joseph and Lydia Castille on July 4, 1930 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Jonah was raised by his mother Lydia Castille and step-father Wallace Fontenot along with two other siblings Rhodie Castille and Joshua Castille. At the age of 21, he enlisted into the Army for two years of active military service where he served in Korea as a tank commander. Jonah Castille passed away on July 30, 2014 (age 85) in Elk Grove, California at Windsor Care & Rehabilitation Home. He was born to Joseph and Lydia Castille on July 4, 1930 in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Jonah was raised by his mother Lydia Castille and step-father Wallace Fontenot along with two other siblings Rhodie Castille and Joshua Castille. At the age of 21, he enlisted into the Army for two years of active military service where he served in Korea as a tank commander. He married Bertherine in 1952 and then moved to Los Angeles, California in 1953. From that union 2 children were born, Charles and Joan Castille. He then ended his military career in 1957 after five years of reserve service.

In 1958, he worked at LA Drug Company, 1960 General Plastics, 1962 Steven Riley, and 1968 Max Factor. From 1979-1987 Jonah Castille held a management position with Miller Brewing Company where he retired from in 1987. His final employment position was with Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in the janitorial department (Swiss Port). He retired from there in 2007.

He enjoyed spending his free time being with his family, watching sports, playing the lottery, and enjoying his wife and daughter's cooking.
Jonah is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bertherine Castille; their two children Charles (Juanita) and Joan, two grandchildren; Diallo Castille (Trish) and Rosheda Castille, two step-grandchildren; Nikia Cole-Harris (Arthur)and Nexxus Cole, two great grandchildren; Isis Castille, Uriah Castille, and five step-great grandchildren; Isaiah, Elishja, Tatiana, Kiara, & Ariana.

Jonah was preceded in death by Joseph Castille (Father), Lydia Castille (Mother), and Wallace Fontenot (Step-Father).
Jonah's memories will be cherished by many close family, friends and a host of loved ones.

There are no words that comfort the sorrow mourning brings. Instead of focusing on our loss, we encourage everyone to join us in celebrating his life.
