Biography

Joe M Ascension Sr., 85 of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on September 27, 2012.
He was born on March 19, 1927 in Seguin, Texas.
Joe proudly served his country in the Korean War. He retired from Reynolds Metal Company after 30 years of dedicated service. Joe had a passion for mechanics.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary G. Ascension; children, Virginia (Jesus) Ortiz, Sylvia (Xavier) Longoria, Joe Ascension, Jr., Lucy (Ruben) De La Garza, Robert (Estella) Ascension and Patsy (The Late Joe) Gomez. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Public visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 that same evening. Rites of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m on Monday, October 1, 2012 at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Interment will follow the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be Jesus Jr., John Henry, CJ, Jerome, Albert, Jimmy, Ruben, David, BJ, Danny and Paul.
