Employment: Jose was a man of many talents. He drove trucks on long haul and motor coaches. Over the years, he owned many businesses; but he was known for Heavenly Clean Auto Detail Shop and Beepers Etc. He retired from Fort Worth Independent School District where he served as a campus monitor. He worked for Johnston Transportation and was adamant about serving families during their loss. He was proud of what he did and found a passion for one particular location in Dallas, “Singing Hills Funeral Home”. Lastly, he was able to help his wife with their landscape service until his health failed.

Military: Jose entered into the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam crisis. He received numerous medals such as, National Defense service medal, campaign medal, Service medal, Combat action ribbon, Navy achievement medal, Rifle expert badge and even a Purple Heart.

Preceded in Death: Jose was preceded in death by his parents, James and Frankie Mae Stewart and his sister, Alma Brockington.

Christian Experience: Jose accepted Christ at an early age. Through the years, he experienced signs that led him to minister to the people of God. He was ordained at East St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in the late 70’s, and later was the associate minister at New Hope Baptist Church. He became the Pastor of Leslie Court Baptist Church and grew the church to form the Greater Leslie Court Baptist Church. His greatest possession was the peace and security of being a child of God.

Grandchildren; Brandon, Mic’Kayla, Willie, ShaCole, Douglas and 17 step-grandchildren; beloved sisters, Sallie Roberts of Daytona Beach, Florida and Ann Mitchell of Ft. Worth, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
