Josefina Z. Cisneros passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the age of 85. She was born on July 15, 1925 to Jose and Tiofila Zapata in Del Rio, Texas. Josefina worked in the dry cleaning business for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Taft, Texas.
Josefina was preceded in death by her husband, Domingo R. Cisneros; daughter, Maria San Juana C. Alvarez; and son, Domingo Cisneros, Jr.
She is survived by six daughters: Amelia C. Solis of Taft, Angelica Cisneros of Robstown, Texas, Josephina Hernandez of Taft, Anna Maria Guerrero of Sinton, Texas, Maria Del Rosario Gutierrez of Sinton, Esmeralda Cisneros of Taft; four sons: Abel Cisneros of Taft, Bonifacio Cisneros of Taft, Roberto Cisneros of Woodsboro, Texas, Ruben Cisneros of Taft; two sisters, Mariana Nunez of Morganton, North Carolina and Tiofila Tobias of Lancaster, Texas; one brother, Mosise Soto of Ingleside, Texas; thirty-nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 2, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Taft. Funeral Mass will be Monday, January 3, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Taft. Burial will follow the service at Taft Memorial Park.
