I got to know the kind of man Joe was, as he often stopped by my cart. Always smiling, and always kind, not just to me, but to others. Often he would buy someone a hot dog while waiting for his order, just to do something nice for someone. And while others make jokes about their wives, Joe spoke so highly of his. He was so proud to be married to such a wonderful lady! I miss seeing his smiling face, and waving at each other. He was such a presence, and such a good man, and I am blessed to have known him. I will never forget Joe. May God bless and comfort his family, always

Sorry to hear of Joe's passing. Years ago he was a backdoor neighbor to us when we lived in Albemarle. Our children played together. He also helped us coach fast-pitch softball. Fun to be around. May God's love be present with all of you during this loss

So sorry for your loss. Joe was a former classmate of mine at ASHS and we graduated together in 1974. He lived on 6th street and my family on 8th. We all were a neighborhood gang( those were the good ole days when gangs weren't bad). He will be missed, but fondly remembered by all of his school friends in Albemarle. Melinda Moose Lambert

To Joe's family,
My name is Ryan Vaughn. My dad Donnie and I are one of the many contractors Joe worked for. Joe had worked with us for about 4 years. In that time we developed not only a good working relationship with Joe, but a valued friendship. I always enjoyed having many meaningful conversations with Joe about our lives and our families. His smile and great positive attitude were as genuine as anyone's out there. When we heard the news dad and I were deeply saddened. I told my wife I wish I had the chance to tell him goodbye, even though I did pass him on the road Saturday before and got a big wave and a smile. Joe was a true friend and we will miss him. My deepest condolences go out to you, his family who will forever miss him. Rest in peace Joe and thanks for always being a good friend and a reliable part of my team.
