We have so many wonderful stories our late Dad John Flaherty had told us of Joe Doyle.
Dad worked with Joe right after he and his family arived here form Ireland. One funny story I will relay is when Dad was under an Engine working in the shop with Joe and Dad said he asked Joe to "Hand him a hose clamp". Joe kept handing Dad several different tools (thinking this must be what he's asking for). Finally Dad said he got out fro under the Engine and went over to the bench for the hose clamp. Joe's response was..." You wanted a Jubilie Clip!"
Our Dad had turned 90 June 2008 and we had a celebration for him...Joe showed up a day in advance, sat with Dad and brought him his "Jubilie Clip" for his birthday! Joe explained to us that the clip was invented in England during Queen Victorias Jubilie...hence the name!
Joe had wonderful sense of humor & love of people. This family feels blessed to have had such phenominal men that have touched our lives! God Bless you!

I just learned today of Joe's passing and am deeply saddened by it. I will never ever forget Joe. I greatly admired his passion for life and especially his undying love of music. Joe always loved to sit in with me when I was playing at the Irish Club. He was never happier than when he was playing his music. What a wonderful inspiration for all of us.I feel truly blessed to have known Joe. Joe as you look down please keep me me from playing any "bum" notes. Your friend Tony Hayes.

Esther, Michael, Greg, Gerard and Theresa,
Joe will so be missed by all of us and especially Ben, Rachel and Julia. They loved visiting with Joe and Esther and getting to eat one of Joe's chocolates that Esther would give to them. They enjoyed sneaking the candy from Joe and always got a kick out of Joe getting after them. Those moments really sum up Joe for me that he had a fun side and always had a smile and a story for the little ones. I have so many memories of growing up and Joe always being there. There is a lifetime of memories that I will always cherish. I so admired his stained glass creations and he was so creative artistically and musically. What a special man that we have lost here on Earth but is now an angel in heaven watching down over his house and Esther and all of his family and friends. Prayers and hugs to all of you at this time of loss. May all of the great memories and good times pull you through to happier days.
