Obituary

Joseph Howard Mackenstein, 24, of Beaver and of Bradford, PA, lost his courageous fight with brain cancer and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. He was born on December 24, 1988 in Beaver, son of Carl Mackenstein and Tracy (Huffman) Mackenstein. Joe was a high school graduate of the Bradford Area School District and earned his Associate Degree in Computer Science from the Community College of Beaver County. Joseph Howard Mackenstein, 24, of Beaver and of Bradford, PA, lost his courageous fight with brain cancer and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. He was born on December 24, 1988 in Beaver, son of Carl Mackenstein and Tracy (Huffman) Mackenstein. Joe was a high school graduate of the Bradford Area School District and earned his Associate Degree in Computer Science from the Community College of Beaver County. He was affectionately known by family as "Schmoe".
Joe was a cyber security administrator for the HostGator Computer Web Company, Houston, TX. Prior to moving to Texas, he was employed with Service Link of Beaver County where he enjoyed many friendships.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Beverly and Howard "Archie" Huffman.
Joe is survived by his father and step-mother: Carl and Sherri Mackenstein, Beaver, PA; his mother: Tracy (Huffman) Mackenstein and her fiancé Jim Shulock, Bradford, PA; his brother: Jacob Mackenstein, Beaver and paternal grandparents: David and Diane Mackenstein, Beaver Falls; also extended family and many friends.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the New Brighton Free Methodist Church, 925 11th Street, New Brighton, PA 15066, with his cousin, the Rev. Joshua Mackenstein, officiating.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Friendship Ridge and to Dr. George W. Brett for their compassionate and loving care.
