Joseph Edwin Miller, 60, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away suddenly on July 3, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center. With a zest for life, even on the final day of his earthly journey, Joe loved life, promoted goodwill, found the good in everything he touched, and fostered contagious optimism in all who were blessed with his friendship. Joe was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on August 24, 1956. He graduated from Englewood High School (Class of 1974) and the University of North Florida. He was Vice President of the ABA Jacksonville Giants and worked for over 30 years in software sales and marketing. Among his many accomplishments and awards, he was a member of South Jacksonville Rotary for 30 years, a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, Founder of the Gingerbread House Extravaganza, a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Eagle Scout, and Vigil Honor member in the Order of the Arrow.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Bonnie Luthin Miller; son, Richard Luthin Miller (Peggy); daughter, Claire Burns (Nick); mother, Alice Noble Miller and her caregiver, Irene Laffe; brothers, Ed Miller (Shannon) and David Miller; sister, Mary Beth Frommeyer (Christopher); in-laws, Dr. and Mrs. Richard B. Luthin, M.D.; Giants family; and a host of family and friends worldwide. He is predeceased by his father, Edwin Hall Miller.

Due to his adventurous spirit and love of travel, Joe's friendship and love extended beyond all borders. He truly never met a stranger and deeply cared for everyone. He completed his earthly journey too soon because God has plans for him. In lieu of flowers, please continue daily acts of kindness and give to a charity of your choice. As Joe would say, "Keep up the God work."
