I have so many good memories of you, Uncle Joe. I remember visiting you in Chicago and being so impressed with your dog--JP Superdog. How you trained him to run to the next room to find the exact toy that you told him to get. I remember the cool rock garden you built in the basement where an occaisional gecko lizard would scamper by my feet. I remember the funny song that you used to sing to me and my siblings about the kid who wouldn't eat his bread crust and instead hid it under his plate. I remember how kind and generous you were to those around you.
I will miss you

Uncle Joe was always my "neighbor" growing up on Whipple St. From what I can remember he was a lot like my Dad. I was not close to Joe as I got older and moved away but I always remembered him.

Joe was the first person I knew who spoke a foreign language, and it ignited my own love of languages. He was a loving godfather to me, loyal brother to my dad, and a beloved grandfather to Dan's kids. Rest in peace, Joe. You will be missed.
