Please know that the Andrew family is praying for you as you celebrate the amazing life of your beloved "Papaw Charlie"...Although I was never blessed to meet him in person, I have heard so many wonderful stories and memories about him and Mimi from my precious sister, Missy.....Some of the things that I love so much about Miss Gloria and Missy are no doubt a beautiful reflection of those qualites and attributes that were modeled and passed down from Dr. Smiddy and MiMi.....What a wonderful legacy he has given to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren alike! I am so sorry that we were traveling out of state or I would have done everything possible to have been there for his celebration. I know what an important part of your family he was. I hope you will take comfort as you think of the incredible Homecoming he experienced as he finally met his Savior face to face....I have a feeling that his beloved MiMi was there waiting as well with her arms open wide and a beautiful smile on her face. Please be blessed in knowing that many are interceding for you as you resume your journey without him here in the coming weeks and months. I am so thankful to God for him and your family because of the sweet, overwhleming blessings I have been given through Miss Gloria, Jason, Kate, Barrett, Missy, Luke, Sarah Grace, Caroline, and Price. God Bless you all and know that Glen, Carson, Chapman, and I are praying for you with much love.

I am deeply sorrowed at the loss of a good and kind man. Dr. and Mrs. Smiddy were very well liked and respected by everyone at the Cumberland Inn. When Mrs. Smiddy died, Dr. Smiddy suffered a great loss as well as the family, but he continued with his work and alway showed everyone kindness and respect. I will miss him at the next Board of Trustee meeting for the University of the Cumberlands, but I am comforted in the knowledge that he and Mrs. Smiddy are together again. I hope the family can find comfort in that though as well. Take Care of each other.
