Joseph Carl Webber, 83, of Gautier, MS passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 in Pascagoula. Mr. Webber was born December 4, 1928 in Knoxville, TN and moved to Gautier in the late 50's with his wife and children. He was a graduate of Knoxville High School and retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 42years of devoted service. Carl was also a member of the local UA Pipefitters charter # 436. He was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Gautier. In 2007, Carl was the recipient of the Gautier Men's Club Citizen of the Year Award. Joseph Carl Webber, 83, of Gautier, MS passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 in Pascagoula. Mr. Webber was born December 4, 1928 in Knoxville, TN and moved to Gautier in the late 50's with his wife and children. He was a graduate of Knoxville High School and retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 42years of devoted service. Carl was also a member of the local UA Pipefitters charter # 436. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Clay Webber and Lotta "Jettie" Webber, a brother, Ray Webber, and daughter Carla Sue Webber.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Doris June Grissom Webber of Gautier, MS; two daughters, Vivian Jean Webber Gager (the late Leland Gager) of Gautier, MS, and Jonez Rochelle Webber Howell (Andy Howell) of Thomastown, MS; two sons, Henry Clay Webber (Vickie) of Gautier, MS, and Roy Eugene Webber (Beth) of Kosciusko, MS, and three siblings. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and many loved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm Thursday at the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. The graveside service will follow at 2 pm at Lynnhurst Cemetery in Knoxville, TN. Rev. David Aultman will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 37, Gautier, MS 39553 or Large Print Bible to be placed in the church in his memory. Condolences may be offered at www.lynnhurstchapel.com
