Josephine Alirez, wife of Joe L. Alirez, was married for 67 years. She was a caring mother of 7
children; 1 daughter and 6 sons. She has 22 grandchildren, 46 greatgrandchildren and
numerous relatives and friends.
She was born to Nicolasa Magallón and Efrén García on July 10, 1928 in Atchison, Kansas.
Josephine cherished her childhood and school years in La Barca, Jalisco, México with her
grandparents. She returned to Denver, Colorado and met her loving husband Joe where they
married April 12, 1947. She spent the following years raising her children and loved them very
much.
Later in life, she was fond of traveling to parts of the world she'd never been before. She had the
opportunity to travel with the church and made many friends. She traveled to Spain, France,
Portugal, and Morocco. She also loved traveling with her family...cruises to Jamaica and other
islands in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and various trips to visit family in Florida and
México.
Other activities she enjoyed include, listening to music, dancing, going to the movies and plays.
She especially adored each and every Chihuahua dog she ever ownedat

doing crafts with them.
She will be greatly missed.
