Joshua Titus Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 7, 2016.

Joshua Ryan Titus, age 25, passed away on April 6, 2016 surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness. He was born in Sfintesti Village, Romania on October 14, 1990. As an infant he traveled to the United States to join his adoptive parents Andrew and Carolyn Titus and brother Nathan of Auburn. He attended Auburn schools and was a 2009 graduate of Edward Little High School. He was employed by Bates College and took great pride in being part of the Food Service Team. Josh had a passion for being part of a team and was a true sports enthusiast. He was a fan and follower of high school, collegiate and pro sport teams. Among his favorites were the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and the Maine Red Claws. Josh brought spirit and enthusiasm to gatherings whether this was a family holiday, a community fundraiser or a sporting event. He emulated an "all-in" commitment to his interests, his family and his friends. His presence had a way of causing the people around him to pause, appreciate all the situation had to offer. He will truly be missed but never forgotten, as he has made many memories to be cherished. Joshua is survived by his parents Andrew and Carolyn Titus, his brother Nathan Titus, grandmother Dolores Mottram and uncles and aunts; John and Mary Lou Titus, Bill and Shirley Titus, Robert and Diana Bernier, Kenneth and Kathy Sonagere, cousins; Kelly Bernier, Christie Bernier, William Titus, Joel Titus, Matthew Sonagere and Kate Sonagere. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; John and Muriel Titus and Gerald Mottram.Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday April 13 at 11 AM at the funeral home, committal will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine was Josh's favorite charity. All Josh wanted to do in life was help others and he appreciated that this organization's mission is to help families. In lieu of flowers we request that donations in Josh's memory be sent to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine at 250 Brackett St., Portland, ME 04102 or at http://rmhcmaine.org/donate/. Words can not express my sincere sadness over your loss of Josh. From reading the stories of Josh it is clear that he was a remarkable young man. The adoption was an event that brought you together but love made you a family. Josh will forever reside in your hearts. You are in my thought and in my prayers that you find strength.

Titus family, I was deeply saddened when I saw the post about Josh. Josh was a huge light in this world to everyone he came in contact with. I can remember at 5 years old playing games with Nate and Josh as Jake your dog would run around. or as Nate, Josh and Andy would help me with my pinewood derby car for Boy scouts. he will be deeply missed by everyone you will be in my prayers and my thoughts and forever in my heart.

I send my deepest condolences on the loss of your dear son. From reading his obituary and viewing his photo gallery, it became clear to me how truly special Josh was and how he left his mark on this earth. I could also sense great love and support all around him, from babyhood through adulthood. Losing a child is unimaginable, no matter at what age. You are blessed with a strong, loving family to lean on. I pray God grants you strength to bear this saddest of journeys.
