Joyce Forrest Duncan, 88, of New Bern, died March 26, 2015 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
She was a lifelong member of Bethany Christian Church in Jasper, and she was a lifelong resident of the Rhems community. Joyce graduated from East Carolina Teachers College and taught in the North Carolina school systems in Onslow and Craven counties for 47 years.
She is survived by her grandson Reid F. Duncan, Jr. and wife Julie Overby Duncan of New Bern; and one sister, Hattie Forrest White of Cove City.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Cotten Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Cotten Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, NC.

I think of Joyce often and cherish those memories of the comfort she gave my mother with her visits and phone calls.
