My earliest memory of Joy was at my great grandmothers house, Joy being my mothers 1st cousin, 2nd cousin to me . Several grandchildren were staying there at the time as it was summer. My sister and I were in the bathtub and Joy was shampooing our hair, she had a pitcher of water pouring it over our head, the water was
a bit cold so we jumped out wet and ran out into the back yard to escape , I am not sure if we had a towel, probably not. Joy chased out after us trying to get us back into the house, now you need to know this about Joy
she could always negotiate well. She yelled well no licking the icing bowl for you two unless you get back into
the house. We loved her icing that she made for cakes. Joy owned a horse named Candy, we would beg for
rides when visiting at her home. Well this all had to be negotiated , she would make a list of what had to be done
first before the ride. Raking the lawn, folding laundry ,cleaning the garage etc.
Other visits she would take us swimming at a
friends house, I remember her being very strong, holding two kids on her shoulders while in the deep end, we
always felt safe. She liked things clean and tidy and yes she could be a bit bossy when it came to checking your
work on her list of negotiable.

Dale, we are so sorry to hear about Joyce. The first time we met her was at the Purple Turtle, where our daughter Mandy got her first job. Joyce was a fun person, always with a smile. Again, we are so sorry.
