Joyce Pickartz Andrews, 67
Joyce Elaine Pickartz was born October 17, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois and entered into eternal rest due to cardiac arrest on May 10, 2013 in Marietta, Georgia.
Joyce was a Graduate of Lakeshore High School in College Park, Georgia and The University of Georgia where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority.
Joyce worked for Eastern Airlines as a Reservations Agent for 21 years until taking early retirement, then worked as a Professional Travel Agent for over 20 years.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, father Eastern Airlines Captain and US Naval Reserve Commander (Ret.) Herbert Charles Pickartz and mother Lorraine Thurnes Pickartz She also lost her eight day old daughter Jennifer Nicole Andrews and sister Jacqueline Pickartz Lyles.
Mrs. Andrews is survived by her husband of 43 years James L. Andrews II; sons James L. Andrews III (Christine) and Joseph C. Andrews; sister Janice Pickartz Palmer (Scott); sister-in-law Lynn Andrews Woodward (Terry); grandchildren Kylie, Keller and Ryder Andrews; nephews Richard Garrett IV (Jill) and Grant Palmer; nieces Kelly Garrett Posey (Todd) and Maria Palmer as well as two uncles, numerous cousins, grandnephews and grandnieces. She also left behind her three beloved dachshunds, Greta, Fritz & Hansel.
Memorial Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 1 with Visitation at noon followed by the Service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church & School, 2111 Lower Roswell Rd., Marietta, GA 30068, 770-973-8877 or faithmarietta.com

I am so sorry to hear about Joyce's sudden passing. I was a fellow Eastern Airlines employee also and at Avoya Travel, which is how I met Joyce, we discussed this quite a bit. Joyce was one of our first baby sitters. Our families were close especially to Joyce's parents, fellow Eastern Airlines Pilot, Herb, and Lorraine. Our condolences go out to the whole family. Our family members remember many good times with the Pickartz family.
