Erma Olsen Traynham passed away on February 19, 2010 at the age of 96. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 2, 1913 to Harry and Maude Olsen. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Reuben Traynham; her two sons, baby boy Traynham and Larry Wayne Traynham, her parents, Harry Lee and Maude (Muggie) Lessel Olsen; her sister, Judy Simon and two brothers, George and James Olsen.
She was a graduate of Corpus Christi High School and attended Texas A & I College. She lived on West Saxet from 1938 until 2001. She had been an active member of Oak Park Methodist Church from the mid 50's until she became disabled in 2001. She worked with the Salvation Army for many years to help provide dolls at Christmas to many needy young girls.
She lived by the creed: "If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all". She gave every young man or woman that came by a cookie, ice cream, fruit slices, or a sandwich with a soft drink or ice tea. She never met an animal or a true charity that she did not help.
She moved into the Holmgreen Center at Trinity Towers in June of 2001 after suffering a stroke and a broken hip. We would like to thank all the Holmgreen staff for many years of loving care. She loved them like family. We also want to thank the staff with Christus Spohn Hospice that has provided her extra comfort since June, 2009.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her son, Gene Traynham and wife, Susann of Irving, Texas; grandson, Brad Traynham of Irving, Texas; her brother Howard Olsen of Cathedral City, California; her sister, Mary Kathryn Mills of San Diego, California her niece, Peggy Millward and husband Don of San Diego, California and her nephews, Vance Mills and wife, Kay of San Diego, California, Jim Mills and wife, Laurie of Anchorage, Alaska and David Mills and wife, Joy of San Diego, California.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors, 4901 Everhart Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 25, 2010 also at Cage-Mills with services concluding there.
