Gouge Family, I wanted you all to know I am saddened by Momma's passing. What a wonderful sweet smile she had. It seems only yesterday we were all down at the Ruitan Pool swimming and laying in the sun. Those days pass all too quickly and we are soon into the adult world. Thank goodness we have had such parents who gave us good role models. Want it be so good when we are all rejoicing together in eternity. Momma is experriencing this even as I write. I love you all and please tell Mr. Gouge I will be seeing him and Ricky at the top of the hill store. I will be praying our savior's grace abounds in the coming days. I am out of town and so sad I cannot be there with you to celebrate momma's homecoming. Love to each of you guys. LIsa Greene Sprouse

My Dearest Gouge Family,
I was so saddened to hear of Joyce's passing, she was a wonderful person in my life that I will never forget.
Ever since we worked together at Universal along with the following years of interaction, she has always been kind and supportive of me. She was an excellent employee to work with, and no matter what was asked of her she found a way to provide what was requested.
My exposure of her personal life was that of always being welcome and made to be comfortable, she was kind and generous, as well as caring of those around her, she treated me as family, and that is a characteristic that many do not have.
After the closing of the plant, I know she dedicated her later years to help provide for the grandchildren; and what a blessed calling to have had, it is sad that the disease of Alzheimer's had developed its grasp on her.
I lost my father to the same last Christmas, it is a shame there is no cure or help for such a cruel disease.
Your family is in my prayers, and I know no amount of condolences can help in the pain; my only wish is that to tell you Joyce was a special person that made a difference not only in this world, but in my life as well.
Warmest regards,
Michael and Marcy Carter
