I am so grateful that you were able to meet both my children and see the joy they have given me. I, too, am glad that you were able to give them your bendicion. By the way, my youngest, Olivia, has grown so much and really reminds me of you. I've told this to my mom many times. Olivia's hair coloring, eyes and smile- just make me think of you. Her features are true Acevedo. I think of you each time I look at her beautiful face.

My memories of you are strongest when I think about you caring for me as a child and the small details that showed your love. Not sure why, but I always remember you making a sweet cereal for me made out of saltine crackers, milk and sugar. I have never had it with anyone else--not even my mother. It was such a small thing, but I felt your love in this little treat, "Mama's cereal." Also, I remember as a child looking forward to the birthday card you'd send from Puerto Rico which always included a small bill usually wrapped in tissue paper. This gesture symbolized to me that you never forgot about us even when you lived far away. Lastly, I am eternally grateful for the greatest gift you could have given me...my mother.

I am sorry that I could not attend your memorial service, but I will carry you in my heart. I find much comfort in the idea of you being with papa and Irma. I feel that you are at peace.

Mama, I find comfort in the fact that you were able to meet my son Juancarlos and give him your bendicion. You are a legacy to our family and are greatly loved and missed. If I could be half the mother and grandmother that you were to your family then, I would surely know that I did something right.
En angel te has convertido.
Velando por nosotros estas.
Aguardando que se cumple la cita
de reunirnos en la eternidad.

Mama, you and Papa are a shining example of a match made in heaven. The marriage that you two shared is something I will always find special. You defined the meaning of family and togetherness. You also gave me my mother who had the biggest heart. Thank You

How heavy is my heart for the sons and daughters of this family? It will be years before I can really understand the weight of this moment. Mama- be in peace, be with Papa, and pray that we can quickly heal from the pain of your loss, pray that we can come together in peace even if we are far apart.
