Juanita Fernandez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 16, 2016.

Juanita Hartman Fernandez, 58, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 in Houston, Texas. Juanita was born in Inkster, Michigan to J.T. and Beatrice Hartman on September 29, 1957, the last of thirteen children. She graduated from Inkster High School in 1975.

In her youth, Juanita would go on to pursue modeling and move to Los Angeles, California with her son Gregory Hartman and brother James Hartman (deceased). She later returned home to Michigan where she also worked at General Motors for 12 years, and met her husband of 30 years Frank J. Fernandez. They married on February 6, 1987. Juanita would have three more children. Frank and Juanita resided in Southfield, Michigan where they lived happily for 18 years. In 2008, Juanita and Frank moved to Houston, TX where they lived for 8 years.

Juanita was a dynamic woman, who deeply loved her husband and children. Her ability to make anyone laugh and feel comfortable was a gift that brought joy to everyone around her.

Her sense of style, cover girl fashion, well-known BBQ and her blatant honesty will always be remembered to those who knew her well. She was a woman of strong character and values, and did everything that she could to ensure the best for her family and friends.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Beatrice Hartman, her brothers Arthur, James, and Ernest Hartman, and her sister Elaine Bankhead.

Juanita is survived by her husband Frank J. Fernandez; her son Gregory Hartman; her three daughters Erica (Jermaine) Williams, Shanita (Brandon) Matthews, and Bianca (Brandon) Bryant; her eight grandchildren Natalie, Jalen, Ethan, Saniya, Braylon, Savannah, Zaydon, and coming soon Baby Bryant; her four brothers J.C., Roosevelt, Eddie, and Tommy Hartman; her four sisters Annie Dixon, Mary Davison, Katie Hartman, and Beatrice Tatum.

Juanita Hartman Fernandez – You were the best wife, mother, grandmother, and Friend that anyone could have ever asked for. May you eternally rest in peace until we see each other again.
