Obituary

Judy L. Damon, 70, passed away Tuesday January 28, 2014 at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center in Normal with her family by her side after her courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 25, 1944 in Normal to Jesse and Hazel (McClure) Bagwell. On November 5, 1966 she married Byron W. Damon. Judy worked at the Pantagraph for 16 years before retirement. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed her grandchildren, country music, dancing and participating in Relay for Life yearly. Judy L. Damon, 70, passed away Tuesday January 28, 2014 at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center in Normal with her family by her side after her courageous battle with cancer.

She was born January 25, 1944 in Normal to Jesse and Hazel (McClure) Bagwell. On November 5, 1966 she married Byron W. Damon.

Judy worked at the Pantagraph for 16 years before retirement. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed her grandchildren, country music, dancing and participating in Relay for Life yearly. She was a very giving woman who always had a laugh and smile on her face.

Survivors include her children: Tina (Bill) Tate of Heyworth, Debbie (Gary) Shepherd of Bloomington and Brian Damon of Bloomington; 11 grandchildren; cousin: Juanita Bess of Bloomington; special companion: Gary White of Bloomington along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister: Donna Underwood.

Visitation will be from 10am until the 1pm service Friday January 31, 2014 at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Rd. Bloomington, IL 61704. The Rev. Cheryl Peterson-Karlan will officiate. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the family for a future donation in Judy's name.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Community Cancer Center along with Dr. Sriratana and Dr. Vales.
