Obituary

Deacon Jules Kulak, 91, of Geddes, passed away Thursday February 28, 2013 at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Hamtramck, MI to the late Andrew and Helen (Hacinski) Kulak. Jules was a US Navy Air Corps Veteran of WWII, serving as a Pilot Navigator, and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He worked at Allied Chemical Corporation for 38 years, retiring as a Supervisor. He graduated from LeMoyne College with an Associate's Degree in Theology. Deacon Jules Kulak, 91, of Geddes, passed away Thursday February 28, 2013 at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Hamtramck, MI to the late Andrew and Helen (Hacinski) Kulak. Jules was a US Navy Air Corps Veteran of WWII, serving as a Pilot Navigator, and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He worked at Allied Chemical Corporation for 38 years, retiring as a Supervisor. He graduated from LeMoyne College with an Associate's Degree in Theology. He was ordained as a Permanent Deacon in Syracuse, as part of its reinstated first class in March 1978. His ministries included Directed Spiritual Retreats at Stella Maris and St. Cecilia's Parish. He has been an obedient servant of the Lord as a Deacon for 35 years. Jules was predeceased by 2 sons, Jules in 1997 and James in 2005 and his brother Robert.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, the former Marge Bianchi, 3 daughters; Margaret (Joe) Lucido, of NJ, Helen (Vince) Petralito, of Syracuse and Mary (Paul) Greenfield, of Jamesville, 3 sons; Fritz, of Solvay, Michael, of NYC and Mark (Colleen), of Solvay, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:45 am Monday March 4th in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:30 am at St. Cecilia Church, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will follow with Military Honors at Onondaga County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are from 1 to 4 pm Sunday March 3rd at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. Cecilia Church or St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center.
