Julia (Duncan) Tackett, 54, of Thurmont, MD, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 28, 2012. Born September 24, 1957 in Oak Hill, WV, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Janet (Meade) Duncan. Julia graduated from St. Mary's Hall-Doane Academy in Burlington, NJ. She obtained her B.A. from Hood College in Frederick and her M.Ed. from McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. Julia (Duncan) Tackett, 54, of Thurmont, MD, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 28, 2012.
Born September 24, 1957 in Oak Hill, WV, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Janet (Meade) Duncan.
Julia graduated from St. Mary's Hall-Doane Academy in Burlington, NJ. She obtained her B.A. from Hood College in Frederick and her M.Ed. from McDaniel College in Westminster, MD.
She was a teacher in the Frederick County Public Schools, and also an instructor at Hood College and Frederick Community College.
Julia will be sadly missed by her husband of 12 years, John Tackett; a son, Ian Rinehart; a step-son, David Tackett; a step-daughter, DiAnne Tackett; her grandson, Landon; a sister, Barbara White, and her husband Pat; nieces Gretchen and Maddie White; and a nephew, Josh White and his wife Lydia.
Friends will be received Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Mountain View Ministries, 103 Apples Church Road, Thurmont, MD.
Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, at 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Jeff Shaw officiating.
Interments will be held at a later date in Moorhead, MS.
