Juliette (Lachapelle) Janson, "Julie," age 87, of Swansea, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at her residence. She was the wife of Joseph P. Janson to whom she has been married for the past 66 years. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Romeo and Lillian (Gaudreau) Lachapelle, she had been a resident of Swansea since 1962. She worked in Fall River as a seamstress for most of her life and as a sales clerk at the former Edgar's Department Store before retiring. Juliette (Lachapelle) Janson, "Julie," age 87, of Swansea, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at her residence. She was the wife of Joseph P. Janson to whom she has been married for the past 66 years.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Romeo and Lillian (Gaudreau) Lachapelle, she had been a resident of Swansea since 1962.

She worked in Fall River as a seamstress for most of her life and as a sales clerk at the former Edgar's Department Store before retiring. A longtime communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, formerly St. Michael's Church, she was a member of the St. Michael Women's Club. She was a former member of the Lady of Fatima Senior's Club. She was also the recipient of the Marian Medal and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one son; Robert Janson and his wife Joyce of Swansea, two daughters; Diane Tremblay and her husband Gerard of Swansea, Helen Lawlor and her husband Daniel of NY, NY, five sisters; Lorraine Mullaney of Barrington, Rose Medeiros and her husband Edward of Swansea, Helen Urban and her husband John of Fall River, Lillian Chapman and her husband Alan of Tiverton, Yvonne Correia of Fall River, four brothers; Roger Lachapelle of Westport, Raymond Lachapelle and his wife Florence of Swansea, Philip Lachapelle and his wife Debra of Zephyr Hills, FL, Gerald Lachapelle of Bar Harbor, WA, four grandchildren Julie A. Janson Captain, U.S.A.F, Shannon Santos, Shayne Hetherson, Jill Tasei, five great-grandchildren; Carrisa Alfonso, Kaiden Santos, Conner, Logan, and Tyler Tasei, and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Leo, Romeo, Robert, and Henry Lachapelle.

Her Funeral will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 9:00 in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the WARING-SULLIAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd. Swansea. Contributions in her honor may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Vincent de Paul Society, 270 Ocean Grove Ave., Swansea, MA 02777. Burial private.
