June Elaine (Fletcher) Hurt
September 26, 1930 - August 8, 2017
June Elaine Hurt passed away at home in Placerville at age 86 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born to the late Harold Fletcher and Opal Wester in Marysville, Kansas. She grew up in Nebraska and moved to California with her parents when she was 16. She is a graduate of McClatchy High School in Sacramento. In 1949 she married the late LD Hurt and lived in Sacramento until 1999 when she relocated to Placerville to be by her daughter. She loved her church, to take care of her family, her home, to sew, craft and fish. She was a very nurturing and loving person.
June is survived by three children, Darryl Hurt of North Highlands, Dee Ann Kraus of Placerville and Wanda Apel of Rio Vista. She is survived by four grandchildren, Codee (John) Winslow of Oakland Hills, Jason (Laura) Hancock of San Dimas, Ross (April) Radford of Ranchita and Stephen (Alexandria) Apel of Rio Vista. She is also survived by five great-grandsons, Liam, Silas, Arlo, Dexter and Oliver. She had a half-sister, Edith Espinoza, who predeceased her, and a late half-brother, Ronald Fletcher of Nebraska. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Rd., Placerville followed by interment at Westwood Hills Memorial Park, Placerville. A reception will follow.
