June Bernice Goettsche, nicknamed "Bunny" by her friends, passed away peacefully July 5, 2012, in Lakeport, CA shortly after her 91st birthday.
She was born to Sophius and Henrietta Knudtsen June 17, 1921, in Petaluma, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Goettsche; sisters, Sophia Flach and Lee Heintz; and brother, Harry Knudtsen.
Bunny is survived by her son, Douglas Bjorn and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Bjorn of San Francisco; grandson, Erik Bjorn of San Francisco; cousins, Zelda Anderson and Marion Kleinecke and their families; nephews and nieces, Allan, Donald, Frank, Roberta, Jeanne, Karen and their families.
Prior to moving to Lake County in the early 70s, Bunny lived in San Francisco. After graduating from Girls' High School (http://goo.gl/Uv7pV), she went to work for the Pacific Fruit Exchange and then as a bookkeeper for Graybar Electric Company for 28 years before retiring in 1973.
Bunny lived in many places in her life. One of her favorites had to be her home on the Mesa in Bolinas, CA. Years ago, she resided at the Will-O-Point Resort where she once owned Will-O-Point Marine and managed the resort and campgrounds with her husband in the 1970-80s.
Bunny had a wonderful sense of humor and her laughter was often compared to Laughing Sal's. She enjoyed going for early morning walks, reading, doing crossword puzzles and watching the classics on the AMC movie channel.
Bunny will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
Many thanks to Linda, Evelyn, Maria and the rest of the staff at the Edelweiss Guest Home in Lakeport for their loving care and devotion.
