Karen Kay Cortes, 56, passed away December 26, 2015 after a lengthy illness. She was born January 7, 1959 in Gaston County to Henry and Mabel (Wooten) Turner.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Deanna Reeves, Melissa Rios and Jason Reeves; mother, Mabel Turner; sister, Dianne Mashburn and brother, Randy Turner; four grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

I am deeply sad to hear the passing of Karen so was truly a good friend and I am deeply sorry for not being there for my friend as I should have been I pray God that he will comfort you in this difficult time and I look forward to seeing her again when I reach heaven someday
