Passed peacefully in her home after a courageous, 2 ½-year battle with ovarian cancer.
Born in Ardmore, PA to Louis J. and Nancy J. (Riddle) Datko, she graduated from Haverford High School (1974) and Millersville University (1978).
She married the love of her life, Timothy I. Auman on August 7, 1976.
She enjoyed many activities including painting, traveling, synchronized swimming, bird and dolphin watching, reading, art, spending time at the beach as well as with her family.
She was an avid supporter of Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, and a member of multiple art groups that included Penn's Woods Painters, Mid-Atlantic Porcelain Artists, Susquehanna Porcelain Artist Guild, and Blue Mountain Artist Guild at Creative Arts in Schaefferstown, and held positions as newsletter chairman and treasurer.
She worked with her husband at their family machine shop, and was the proud mother of four amazing children, whom she loved and would have given her life for. She was actively involved in their many school activities as the coordinator for Santa Sales and for Northern Lebanon Soccer Club, High School Theater costume director, and the Northern Lebanon Booster Club for which she held several positions. She became an ardent Syracuse lacrosse and basketball fan after her daughter attended the university.

After Karen's diagnosis, with her husband's assistance, she not only continued to paint at Cazenovia College each summer, but they added trips to Florida as well as Georgia. She greatly enjoyed the company of the friends she painted with, as well as, making new friends in her travels.

She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Nancy Datko, and her sister Meghan R. Datko.
She is survived by her husband Timothy I. Auman; her four children Megan E., wife of Joe Mengel, Melissa L., Timothy M., and Jordan T. Auman; and nine siblings Louis, Keith, Brian, Laurence, Christopher, Nancy, Curtis, Sheila (Maurer) and Allicia (Wagner) Datko.
