Windsor: Karen J. Hawley, 57, flew home in the arms of angels on Wednesday, July 11, 2013. She was predeceased by her parents, Orvie and Janice Hawley; two infant sisters; grandniece, Izabella Karen Joy; her pets, Sackett, Pallie and Emilie. She is survived by her siblings, Laura (Max) Abbott, Orvie (Kathy) Hawley, Kevin (Kelly) Hawley; nieces and nephews, Clarissa, Savannah, Keith, Jeremy; grandnieces and grandnephews, Felicia, Brianna, Brian, Marcus, Osiris, Frejya, Jason Jr. and Alexis Rose; special aunts, uncles and cousins, her special pets, Patches, Beer and Angel; Fabulous Four group, Anita, Michelle, Carrie and Pat; special friend, Edie Burch. Karen enjoyed a good book, traveling, movies, boating on Cayuga Lake, gardening at Otseningo and was an gifted writer. She gave countless hours volunteering as a Girl Scout Leader, at the library, Habitat for Humanity, American Heart Association, Humane Society of Binghamton and Montrose, EPAC, was an auxillary police officer and for many other places. She was a friend to many and an angel to all. Karen worked for over 30 years for the Broome County Department of Social Services where she touched many lives and had many friends. Happy Trails. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July, 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY 13901. Burial will follow in the family plot in Blatchley Cemetery. The family will recieve friends on Monday, July 15, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
