KATHERINE E. ANDERSON DOWNS (NEE SHADLEY) CROWN POINT, IN FORMERLY OF HAMMOND Katherine Downs, age 88, passed away on May 25, 2012. She is survived by her loving children: Kathleen (Stan) Bafia, Richard (Pat) Anderson and Jean (Robert) Fulayter; siblings: Jim (Nancy) Shadley, Margaret Lewis and Mary Jane Burge; one brother-in-law, Don Beyer; loving grandmother of 14; and great-grandmother of 24. Preceded in death by her husbands: Earl Anderson and Harry Downs; and sons: Ronald and Mark Anderson. Katherine retired from Illinois Bell. She was a founding member of Suncrest Christian Church and a past matron of the Hammond Chapter of the Eastern Star. Katherine was also a member of the Order of the Amaranth and Orak Lady Shrine of Hammond, IN. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN. Interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the funeral home from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
