Katheryn "Katy" Kidwell (Dickison), of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the age of 92. Katheryn was born November 13, 1919 in Nashville, Wisconsin, the fourth born daughter of the late Hugh and Florence (Clark) Dickison's thirteen children. She was united in marriage to Harold E. Kidwell, who preceded her in death on December 1, 1984. Katy worked for several years at Indiana State University, retiring as a housekeeper. She belonged to the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary #972 and the American Legion Auxiliary #346. Many will remember her as a remarkable, amazing woman, who was always giving and more...
Katheryn "Katy" Kidwell (Dickison), of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the age of 92. Katheryn was born November 13, 1919 in Nashville, Wisconsin, the fourth born daughter of the late Hugh and Florence (Clark) Dickison's thirteen children. She was united in marriage to Harold E. Kidwell, who preceded her in death on December 1, 1984. Katy worked for several years at Indiana State University, retiring as a housekeeper. She belonged to the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary #972 and the American Legion Auxiliary #346. Many will remember her as a remarkable, amazing woman, who was always giving and more than dedicated to her entire family. She will truly be missed by all who knew her, and her legacy will live on for generations to come. She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Patty Jean Donnerberg of Terre Haute and Catherine and husband Jessie Hollis, Sr. of Alvin, TX.; brother, Henry Rex Dickison; grandchildren, David W. Hayes, Jr., William Phillip Norris, Jr., Frank R. Shafer, Jr., Tony K. Willis, Starla Jean Willis Brown and two step grandchildren, Anthony Douglas Hollis and Jessie E. Hollis, Jr. Also surviving are a host of many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Katy was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Paul Harold Mason, Timmy Eugene Hayes, Stephen Michael Norris and Helen "Christy" Swiger Willis Hollis, as well as three sisters and eight brothers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 pm. and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Katy's funeral at 11 a.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home in Terre Haute. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Brazil. In memory of Katy, memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
