Kathryn Ann Sorum Erwin, 86, of Houston, Texas, passed away on May 13, 2017. She was born in Flaxton, North Dakota on August 22, 1930 to Marius Sorum and Anna Rhenstrom Sorum. She married Lt. Col. Elmer Jesse Erwin, Jr. on September 17, 1953 in Kalispell, Montana.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Erwin, father Marius Sorum, mother Anna Sorum, brother John Sorum and wife Fran, sister Lillian Swenson and husband Glen, sister Thelma Petersen and her husband Orluf, brother Marvin Sorum and sister-in-law Mavis Sorum.
She is survived by her brother Bruce Sorum, sister-in-law Shirley Sorum, children: Patricia Erwin, Susan Sowyrda married to Gary, Jess Erwin married to Carol, Jill Erwin, Connie Klein married to Kenny, grandchildren: Allison Erwin, Peter Erwin, Christopher Sowyrda married to Rebecca, Jonathon Sowyrda married to Jessica, Alex Sowyrda, Meredith Erwin, Courtney Carnes married to Franklin, Rourke Pollard, Kaleigh Klein, Kody Klein, great-grandchildren: Sloane, Regan, Brantley, Bradyn, Beckett, Caroline, Walker as well as many numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00am at Memorial Drive United Methodist, 12955 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77079 with a reception to follow.

My thoughts and prayers are with all you kids,I call you kids cause I'm, it seems so much older then you all even though we are cousins.I know you are gonna miss your Mom,my heart goes out to you.Lord only knows how much I will miss her,our only Aunt we had left.I will miss the phone visits,(long ones)we had.We talked about a trip to North Dakota this summer,bless her heart she didn't want to give up,it was the Sorum in her.Love to you all,Dianne Swenson George.
