Keith A. Nelson, 50, of Crystal Lake passed away on November 14, 2012.

He was born November 9, 1962 in Woodstock. He was a fun loving, outgoing, adventurous guy with the most infectious laugh. His passions were hang gliding, riding his Harley, motor sports, and above all spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by the love of his life, Alanna Winandy, her mother, Bridget Dixon, and her brother-in-law, Dan (Mary) Parker; his brother, John Nelson; his niece, Briana (Brian) VanderWeele; nephews, Logan Nelson, and Brian and Joseph Parker; great-nephew, Hayden VanderWeele; great-niece, Ashton VanderWeele; cousins, Michelle (Russell) Gibbs, Candi (Tim) Nolte, Jeff (Annie) Shulfer, Rhonda (David) Trevoranus; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia (Winters) Nelson; his sisters-in-law, Mary Winandy Parker and Darlene Nelson; his grandmother, Gertrude Winters; and his great-aunt, Rose Roewer.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6pm on Sunday, November 18, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue from 10am to 11am on Monday, November 19, at the funeral home. The funeral service will be at 11am.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial at a later date.

Allanna, I was so sorry to have heard about Keith's passing. I'm his mom's cousin, and I remember Keith as a little guy. He was such a cutie! Looking through your photo gallery I was able to enjoy seeing what a good, caring man he grew to be. I knew he had to be, with such a loving and kind mom.
