Darling Kelli... a year has passed and still I can't believe you're not here. I miss you so very much. So many things remind me of you and then today the sun came out after a week of rain - I love how you do that. You are always in my heart (and so, so many others!)

Judy,
Just found out today, such a long time after, that Kelli had passed away. Please accept my condolences. She was an awesome young lady, and I recall with pleasure the times spent with her at the gym. She was a hard working woman, great sense of humor, and always took time to teach me something about geology....

I just learned today about Kelli. My heart felt condolences go out to the Flanagan family. I had the pleasure of working with Kelli as her Realtor and she was of those people that when you meet them, you just know they are someone special. She was such a "together" young woman and one of those people that make you say "wow". She was such an happy soul. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to meet her and I will always remember her.

For Kelli
June 11, 1984 - January 23, 2011
In an old movie a breathless George Kennedy searches for a way to praise his hero, Paul Newman. Finally in his backward way he shouts out “you a Natural Born World Shaker Luke.” Cross out Luke and insert the name Kelli. “World Shaker”,,, always ready for the next adventure, her beautiful smile, her spontaneous wit. She was always 1 step ahead, always out on the point. I’ve known her since her birth. She attended my 30th birthday at age 4 months and stole the show. She was Avant-Garde. Her loving, sweet, caring nature endeared her to us. Her friends and her family were blessed by her love, but it was her dedication and determination to succeed that held us in awe. I’m going to share some things this incredible young woman accomplished. This is the short list, if you want to return tomorrow we will have compiled the complete list.
Her 1st accomplishment, she won the mommy’s sweetheart/daddy’s little darling award for 26 consecutive years.
At Kingwood high school she was National Honor society, Editor of the KHS yearbook, President of the Ponies. Graduated 2002.
In 2002 she interned for Ocean Energy, in 2003 she interned for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and in her words “followed the drilling process from spud to production completion.”
While in college she received the Society of Petroleum Engineers scholarship, Women in Petroleum scholarship, the Department of Petroleum scholarship. She volunteered for student community service days. She was part of recruiting fairs to encourage high school students to pursue careers in the oil and gas field. She was Vice President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers Texas A&M chapter. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering and was a member of the “Fighting Texas Aggie class of 2006.” She was so proud to be a “Fighting Texas Aggie.” She loved ATM and represented them in Grand fashion. Even her dog Jackson was an Aggie, although he was a “Bighting Texas Aggie”, they’re the most dangerous kind.
Her dreams came true when she was hired by Kerr McGee and were magnified when they merged with Anadarko. At Anadarko she was part of the family and lived for her job.
Kelli was no couch potato, she saw the world. Germany, Italy, Amsterdam, Brussels, Bahamas, Cayman, Mexico, and in the US from the Grand Canyon to Mount Rushmore, New York to LA.
She was always creating. She started a new company, “Kelli's Creation of Architectural Design Artwork”. Her talent bubbles from her work.
I want you to take a peek into Kelli’s precious heart. Throughout November she posted these things she was thankful for:
“I’m thankful for friends and family that love me despite my flaws.”
“I’m thankful for my Grandma coming to wait for the heater repairman and all the other people that do things to make my life easier.”
“I’m thankful for my little puppy who brings me so much joy and for good girlfriends to go enjoy chips and salsa on this beautiful November Day.”
“I’m thankful for the cross”
“I’m thankful for our veterans”
“I’m thankful for our freedom”
“I’m thankful for my Aggie family, we will never forget”
“I’m thankful it’s Friday.”
“I’m thankful for a great worship service and a lazy Sunday afternoon with Jackson.”
“I’m thankful we got to celebrate my Grandpa’s 80th birthday today, now for some “Fighting Texas Aggie Football.”
“I’m thankful for good friends and family to spend Thanksgiving with.”
Kelli’s last entry on January 17th, 2011 was Psalms 118/24. Today is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.
Kelli touched lives, that’s what she did. Look around yourselves. She was so very much loved. She was a rising star. Oh what might have been? How glorious would her achievements have been? Some of us plod and plan but never seem to reach the goals we strive for. The book of James tells us:
“Now listen you who say today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money. You do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are but a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”
How did Kelli achieve so much in that “little while” Was it her dedication? Yes. Was it her determination and diligence? Yes. Was it her overwhelming desire to succeed? Of course. But the thing that made her succeed so gracefully was that she absolutely loved what she did. It was her passion. She put all of her heart into it and inspired those around her to achieve more than they ever thought possible. Kelli was a leader. Always ahead of her time. Always certain, always true. Now she has found the Truth and received a reward greater than we can comprehend. And isn’t it just like Kelli, she leads us again. What a glorious reunion it will be in the great by and by……………She waits for us.

The depth of our grief reflects how deep we loved. While my heart is broken, I know Kelli was loved by all who knew her and she will never be forgotten and will live on through the lives she touched and inevitably changed forever. She will always be my best friend, our faveorite Aunt Kel Kel, my fellow Aggie engineer and American Idol singer, and indefinitely my example of unconditional love and happiness (extreme bubbly happiness with lots of pink). I rest assured she is in a better place. All my love and prayers to our friends and family in this hard time.

Dear Kelli,
Thinking of the times we shared still brings a smile to my face and laughter to my heart.
You were the second person I met after moving to Colorado. The first being your roomie, Lacie. We all had such great times together... enough to fill a book.
Even in the short time I spent with you, I knew you were a true friend. You are loved always!

Judy, Kasey & Bruce, Although I did not meet you in person, Kelli always talked fondly about her family. I feel blessed to have known Kelli for the last couple of years. I think it's fitting that her last FB entry was 'This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice & be glad in it.' She touched so many people & her memory will be with all of us always. Although she left us way too soon, I will always feel grateful to call Kelli a friend. Kelli has always had a generous heart & genuinely beautiful spirit. We are all lucky to have been able to know Kelli, & our memories are gifts to remember her until we see her again some day. She is loved & will be dearly missed by all. My prayers and thanks are with your family, for helping to shape Kelli into the amazing woman we were luck enough to know & love.

My deepest condolences to the entire Flanagan family. I thought I would share a funny story about Kelli. I remember taking Kelli to some of her first frac jobs in Weld County, CO. She asked me where she could go to the bathroom and I told her either behind that truck or in the port-o-potty. She walked up to the port-o-potty, opened the door, assessed the “situation”, did not enter, closed the door, walked back to the frac van and told me she was going to town. You left us too soon Kelli, God bless.

Kelli... my darling Kelli. You were so much to me. A best friend. A birthday twin. A homecoming, prom, graduation buddy... A neighbor and of course, the first person I met when we moved to America. I remember we went for a walk around the block talking about boys and how much you loved turtles and beanie babies. I miss you so much it hurts but I know your warmth and amazing smile will always be with me. From Kelli's creations to your trips around the world you were a go-getter, an adventurer who worked harder than anyone I knew. I know you're up there smiling that beautiful smile down at us, making plans and sorting things out. From Yearbook to Ponies to swimming pool parties these tears are for you and to celebrate all that was great because of you... love genna xx

Kelli was a beautiful person inside and out. She was so full of energy and life. She was an amazing friend as well. We met for lunch in the Spring of 2007 to see if we would like to be roommates. I was so sad to leave my college friends but after meeting Kelli, I felt that I already had a friend in Denver. We were only roommates for 8 months but we became extremely close in that short time. After she moved back to Houston, she made sure we got together every few months and I always cherished those visits. She was so loyal and my own personal cheerleader. She always told me how she felt about something but supported me in my decisions. Kelli, my only comfort is that I know you are waiting for us in Heaven. A day won't go by where I won't miss you. Thank you for the impact you have made on me. And thank you that the last words you said to me were "I love you."

I know no words can really make this time any easier. I am so sorry you are having to experience this loss. So many people loved Kelli. She was such a caring and kind person. I am so thankful I got to know her in high school. I have many fond memories from yearbook and ponies that I will always cheerish. The KHS Class of 2002 lost a great friend. My most heartfelt condolences go out to her entire family and you all are in my prayers. Kelli will be deeply missed and I am sorry I could not attend the services.
