Kelly Bond Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 1, 2013.

BOND, KELLY MARIE, 32, of Nashville passed away October 31, 2013, at Vanderbilt University.
Kelly is the daughter of Thomas A. Bond, Jr. and Peggy Wilburn Bond and sister of Emily Marshall Bond. Kelly is preceded in death by her grandparents Lt. Col. Thomas A. Bond and Mrs. Gary Bond; Howard Marshall Wilburn and Lucille Wilburn, and her uncle Lt. Col. Sam Wilburn.
Kelly is survived by her parents Thomas A. Bond, R. and Peggy Wilburn Bond; her sister Emily Marshall Bond, her aunt and uncle Rosann and Bill Nunnally, an aunt, Sandi Wilburn McBride, cousins Brett Lee Wilburn, Kevin and wife Bridgette Wilburn and their two children, Baylee Marie Wilburn and Caleb James Wilburn, all of Myrtle Beach, SC, cats George and Larry Bond, and her new puppy Jerry Wilson Bond, and numerous and loving family and friends.
Kelly graduated from the Tennessee School for the Blind. She had an active life filled with adventure and fun. She skied for several years at Challenge Aspen and was a favorite of all the instructors. She was one of the first participants in the Saddle Up! Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program where she won many blue ribbons. She also participated in the "Chuckkers for Charity" and was a volunteer at Rochelle Memory Works.
Kelly's spirit, determination, sensitivity, and quick wit far exceeded her ability to see. She enjoyed playing games like Categories and did not hesitate to challenge other's answers in the group. Her specialty was naming state capitals.
Kelly loved the beach, animals, her family, friends, and was so strong willed and determined to be an in depth young lady full of grace and love.
Kelly touched everyone who knew her in her young 32 years. She will remain forever in the hearts, minds, and spirits of family and friends.
"Death is no more than passing from one room into another. But there's a difference for me, you know. Because in that other room I shall be able to see." Helen Keller
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 4th 2013 at ten o'clock in the morning at St. Henry Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday, November 3rd from two o'clock til four o'clock at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home. I want to make a correction. Kelly was 20 I think and I was 21 when we met in 2001 not 22. My sincere apologies for the typo. She was a total sweetheart

The first thing people notice when they see you for the first time is likely your smile. The memory of that smile could last forever. A warm smile helps others to relax, it invites other to converse with you. The Bible recommends: Do not hold back good from those to whom it is owing when it happens to be in your power of your hand to do it. (Proverbs 3:27) Kelly shared a valuable gift with others her warm smile. She will be missed.
