Kenneth Wayne Venissat (Ken) passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the age of 64. Ken was a resident of Richmond, TX.
Ken was born on April 1, 1952 in Port Arthur, TX to his parents George and Arda Mae Venissat. He is survived by his wife Marlene Venissat, 3 children; son Marcus Venissat and wife, Daughter Wendy Rutherford, her husband Mark Rutherford, son Khristopher Venissat, his wife Michelle Venissat. Ken had a total of 5 Grandchildren, 3 of them are Wyatt Trahan, Savana Trahan, and Justin Venissat; as well as 2 Great Grandchildren.
Ken was retired from Shell Oil where he worked for more than 30 years. Ken had a great sense of humor; incredibly outgoing to those he knew. There was never a dull moment when we were all together. He was always joking around and teasing the grandkids about something. Traveling all over the world was something he greatly enjoyed. He loved to camp, fish, and tube the Guadalupe River with his family. He also loved being near the water; a beach, lake, or river was where he wanted to be.
Memorial Service will be Thursday, December 15, 2016 4:00 PM at St. Cyril Catholic Church, 10503 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. Ken will be mourned greatly by all who knew him.

I was deeply saddened and shocked to learn about the death of Kenny.I know that your Dad loved all of you with all his heart,I know how difficult this time is for all of you. Please trust that I care and love all of you.Kenny was a wonderful brother. He was VERY smart,I remember one time when we were kids- Mama told him he needed to study and he told her " Mama,I already know my lessons."I truly believe he had a photographic memory. He also knew how to comfort and take care of babies. When he and Maralene came to visit when Sheridyn (Jennifer's daughter) was three weeks old- Kenny said, "This baby isn't resting right." two weeks later we were at Arkansas Children's Hospital.Sheridyn had to have surgery for pyloric stenosis.Khristopher's son Justin was having surgery in Texas at the same time or he said,"I'd be there in a heartbeat. When Uncle Tommy,Jennifer and I would visit in LaPorte or Garyville Kenny always made sure we had a good time. I remember one time we were visiting and Kenny fixed boiled shrimp he and he couldn't stop laughing because he couldn't believe how much boiled shrimp Uncle Tommy could eat. I remember when we were kids and he put a little green grass snake down Louise's back,I can still hear her screaming and of course Kenny was laughing, He thought it was so funny. Now, my favorite memory is when Kenny and Jenny were young and he would open his bedroom window and play all of the 1960's music for her so he could let her know how much he loved her.Believe me he loved her VERY,VERY much. Trust me I was there. As we all know people, circumstances and things change in our lives. I know he loved Millie and Maralene VERY VERYmuch. I really can't believe that Kenny and Louise are both gone. Louise passed away on October 6, 2016. It really isn't goodbye, It's til we meet again. I am sorry Kenny and I lost touch three and a half years ago. I still love him and miss him, Love, Aunt Marie--my email [email protected]

I first met Ken, about 30 years ago. He immediately welcomed me into the family, and was always so good to Me, Stella, and the kids. Many good memories were made at the home in Garyville. The house was always overflowing with love, family, and (of course) good food! While the kids may be now grown (and I'm a Grandpa, myself), there's still a special place in their hearts for their Granddaddy. And on the trips we took together...never a dull moment, when we went camping and/or boating! I think my favorite was camping on the Canadian side of Lake Erie. My sincerest condolences to Marlene, Marcus, Wendy, and Khristopher.

It was always a good time with good food when Ken was around. Except of course when Chili's didn't have the soup he wanted. Ken sure did speak his mind. (Smiling) Ken will be missed by his family and friends.
