Kenneth Amo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 2, 2011.

Ken went home to the Lord surrounded by his family on June 30, 2011,after an 18 month courageous battle with cancer, following on the heels of a 10 year fight with Aplastic anemia and its side effects. His strong religious beliefs and family and friend support gave him great strength for this long battle. He leaves his wife, Carrie Amo, daughter Camie Amo, sons Kenny Amo and Kasey (Brandy & Cassidy)Amo. In addition, he leaves his parents, Kenneth and Joyce Amo, sister Kim (Darryl) Aiello, and their children,Samantha(son Archer)and Tony(daughter Hannah), brother Kevin Amo(son Max). He enjoyed outdoor activities which included disc golf, hiking (climbing Mt Rainier and hiking in the Olympic Mtns.), walking on the beach with family and racing his D-derby car at the Kitsap Rodeo where he took home many trophies. Another of his great pleasures was coaching Little League baseball with his sons. He was an avid reader on current affairs, politics and history.
He completed the Machinist apprenticeship and worked as a Machinist and shop plannerman until his medical condition forced him to retire in 2000. Graveside services will be held July 7th, 11:00AM at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Manette Community Church, 1137 Hayward Avenue, Bremerton, WA 98310.
