Dale,
You know that I loved you. You were a great brother with a sharp mind and good sense of humor. My fondest memory of you as a child is of you and your best friend catching water moccasins from Little River Park Canal. You took them to your friend's house, skinned them, fried them up in a frying pan, and ate them. You brought a pot full of them home and put them in one of Mama's stock pots. She repeatedly told you that she would not cook them and for you to take them out to the back yard and bury them. When she said that you could not eat them, you replied, "But Mama, don't you know that in France these are a delicacy?" You were only about eight years old and had never been farther from home than Patrick Air Force Base when we went to visit Uncle Mel and Aunt Eileen.

Another fond memory is of you teaching our myna bird to say your and Warren's name. When Mama would call you for any reason, the bird would reply, "Dale, Dale, Dale."

You were always repairing things when you were a child. I remember when you took my old broken transistor radio and wired it up to one that worked to create your very own "stereo" in the garage. You were only six at the time.

The year you received a train set for Christmas, you took the engine into the garage and took it apart to determine what made it work. You were always curious. You were a master woodworker who laid beautiful floors and could refinish and repair any piece of wooden furniture.

You were a very good cook and all of your neighbors, no matter where you lived, loved to be invited to one of your fish fries.

You were always there to help me when I needed home repairs. I miss you every day, but I know in my heart that you are in a better place where you can breathe free for the first time in your life. I love you.

Uncle Dale,
You were so kind, helpful and funny and we will always miss you. Spending time at your house (and at the apartment in Sausalito), and having your help when we moved into our first house, will always be wonderful, fun memories. We will also always remember you taking us to the best Dim Sum place in SF. You will always be missed. Lori & Sierra Tsang

Some of my fondest memories as a child came from our visits with our cousins in Miami. Dale always made sure we had a good time and walked us to the corner store more times than I can think about. We will miss you and your smile very much.

I particularly remember helping Dale move from his apartment in Roseville to his house. I remember talking to Dale about his painting the garage floor in checkerboard. Dale was sweet and nice, very gentle and gentlemanly. I liked Dale, he was humble and smart.

I met Dale on a cabling job when I worked for PedCom. I remember how much fun I had that day with Dale. We were working at a San Juan school and needed to run cable in a classroom with just an extension ladder. Dale told me to go on the roof while he did the classroom work. While I was on the roof I heard a smash and I ran to the edge to look over and Dale was coming out from the room. I was cracking up because I knew what happened. Dale was ok as well. Later that day he told me he had enough working for PedCom and said “That's it! I'm going to work for my brother! I quit!” I told him ok you work for your brother. I laughed and we went on our day. Three years went by and I began to work for Angus-Hamer. There Dale and I met again with great surprise. The world is a small place. Embrace the people you meet. You never know when your paths will cross again. Today I am thankful to be employed at Angus-Hamer as well as having the chance to work with Dale. I will never forget you Dale and I will tell the story for many years to come. Peace…

Dale
We spent quite a bit of time working together and also enjoying our love for cars away from work. Your opinions sometimes were as hard as your exterior, but I know your heart and love for anyone who needed help was as kind and as soft as silk. I will miss you Dale. I will smile because your spirit is always with us.
